I will be serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Ecuador speaking Spanish for the next eighteen months! My purpose as a missionary is to invite others to come unto Christ. As a missionary I am representing Jesus Christ, sharing His gospel to others, and doing service work for the people in Ecuador. 18 Months a Hermana is my mission blog where my activities from my mission will be posted and updated here and I invite all to check it out and see more of what I’ll be doing!
I have so much love for my Savior and His gospel and believe it to be true. It is what brings me the most happiness and joy. I’m serving a mission because I want to share my happiness with others, help people change for the better and improve their lives, and I have a strong desire to be a positive influence to others.
Serving a mission is something I have always wanted to do and I feel so blessed to be given to opportunity to give what I have to others and serve. I hope to learn and grow in all aspects of my life from this experience. I can’t even being to explain how thrilled/excited/happy/scared/anxious I am as I embark on this new adventure in my life.
For the first six weeks I will be in Mexico City for training and will be learning the language, the material I will be teaching, and transitioning into mission life. And after that I fly out to Ecuador!
Until then, be good and as Ellen Degeneres would say: Be kind to one another. Adios!
Love, Leah
